In the summer of 2005, I spent two months in Zambia, a small country in south-central Africa hard-hit by the AIDS crisis. During my time which I often refer to as "my Zambian adventure," I lived and worked with local Zambians and assisted
Every Orphan's Hope in a ministry to orphaned children. My experience there was unforgettable, affecting the way I see myself, the world, the church, and even God. After returning home, I took some time during my Christmas break from college and scrapbooked some of my stories and pictures by altering a book--cutting out pages and inserting my own pictures and writing, and just recently I've been able to scan and upload all the images.
Special thanks go to my sister-in-law
Melynda Van Zee for her continued support and encouragement in the scrapbooking process and also to Gary and Marth from Every Orphan's Hope, Dawn from
Youth Unlimited, and everyone else who made this trip possible.
